Challenge safely
Safety Center
A good challenge should motivate you without putting your health, privacy, or finances at risk. Use these safeguards before you participate.
Effective September 27, 2026
Before joining a challenge
- Read the goal, timeline, proof requirements, privacy setting, and who can participate.
- Choose a pace appropriate for your health, ability, budget, and experience. Consult a qualified professional when needed.
- Leave or stop immediately if a challenge becomes unsafe, coercive, deceptive, or harmful.
Protect your privacy
- Do not post your address, live location, travel plans, phone number, passwords, banking details, identification, or workplace or school schedule.
- Check photos and videos for visible documents, street signs, license plates, screens, children, and bystanders before uploading.
- Remember that people may save or reshare content even when a challenge is private.
Money and saving challenges
ChallengeMates tracks goals and progress; it does not hold, transfer, or protect your money. Keep savings in an account you control. Never send money to another participant because they promise returns, prizes, verification, or access.
Do not share bank credentials or verification codes. If someone pressures you to pay, stop contact and report the account.
Photos, videos, and meetups
- Only record people who have agreed to appear. Use extra care with children and never post content that could identify their location or routine.
- For in-person activity, meet in a public place, tell someone you trust, arrange your own transportation, and do not go alone when meeting someone new.
- Block and report unwanted contact. Do not move a conversation off-platform if you feel pressured or uncertain.
Report a concern
Use ChallengeMates reporting tools for unsafe challenges, harassment, scams, impersonation, privacy violations, or inappropriate content. Include the relevant challenge, account, message, or post so the report can be reviewed.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. ChallengeMates is not an emergency response service.
Account security
- Use a unique password and protect access to your email account.
- Never share sign-in links, passwords, or security codes.
- If you suspect unauthorized access, change your password, secure your email, and contact support through ChallengeMates.
